Walmart Sam’s Club 2018 Kick Off
On Thursday, August 16th Dell Children’s Medical Center was visited by over 150 associates from area Walmart and Sam’s Club’s gearing up for the 2018 Children’s Miracle Network campaign to raise critical funds for Central Texas families. Starting August 27th, shoppers will have the opportunity to donate at the register and support Dell Children’s at their neighborhood Walmart or Sam’s Club. The campaign will take place over 5 weeks ending on September 30th and this year marks an exciting milestone for the partnership. Having been a Children’s Miracle Network partner for more than 30 years, Walmart and Sam’s Club are on the verge of raising more than $1 Billion for children’s hospitals across North America since the inception of the partnership to help improve children’s health. The theme of this year’s campaign is the “Road to $1 Billion” and the energy was palpable as these dedicated associates came together inside the hospital.
Walmart and Sam’s club cashiers, managers, and market leaders celebrated past fundraising milestones, set new goals, and heard important updates about how the funds they raise are impacting the work at Dell Children’s Medical Center for Central Texas families. Special moments were shared as patient families shared their own experiences being a patient, a parent, or a sibling and how important the hospital’s family centered care was them in their time of need. Families expressed their heartfelt thanks to the associates for being such amazing community partners ensuring Dell Children’s is equipped to provide families with the world class care they need for their kids.
Funds raised through the annual Walmart Sam’s Club campaign have gone to support research, training, purchase new equipment and pay for uncompensated care as Dell Children’s serves as the safety net hospital in our community, all to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible. We hope that you keep this campaign in mind while you are back to school shopping, stocking up for Labor Day, or getting ready for football season.
