Rooster Teeth Day at Dell Children’s Medical Center

Wednesday May 15, 2019 Rooster Teeth Productions had an epic day at Dell Children’s Medical Center.  This special day was spent with seven members of the Rooster Teeth leadership team including, Matt Hullum, Anna Hullum, Patrick Salazar, Michael Lindblad, Chelsea Atkinson, Blaine Gibson, and Chad James, scrubbing in and rotating through different parts of Dell Children’s with up close and personal behind the scenes experiences in surgery, child life and mental health. This experience, referred to as Operation Miracle, is exclusively curated for high level partners of Dell Children’s Foundation that have a vested interest in helping the hospital continue propelling pediatric healthcare forward in Central Texas and beyond. In addition to these clinical rotations, the Rooster Teeth team spent lunch with Dell Children’s President, Chris Born, hearing about his bold vision for the future. The day ended with an employee reception for dozens of Rooster Teeth associates in the hospital’s outdoor Healing Garden to celebrate this special partnership.

Rooster Teeth Productions is a long time Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals partner through a program called Extra Life, which is a 24 hour video gaming marathon fundraiser, in which they raise over $1Million annually for the kids and families served at Dell Children’s. Since Extra Life began, it has generated over $5Million in donations for the hospital, most of which is credited to Rooster Teeth. 2018 marked the completion of a $3Million pledge to help build a new Mental Health Unit at Dell Children’s, which opened in May of 2018, and was 100% funded through philanthropy.  This incredible accomplishment was honored with the naming of the Rooster Teeth Mental Health Healing Garden, a private outdoor space dedicated to patients receiving life-saving mental health treatment at Dell Children’s.

2019 marked the beginning of a comprehensive growth campaign being launched in Austin, Texas to grow world class programs in cardiology, hematology/oncology and neurology at Dell Children’s Medical Center. Critical to the work of growing these clinical Centers of Excellence will be the building of a new facility with the equipment, space allocation and workflows that enable programmatic expansion. Hence, a Pediatric Ambulatory Center of Excellence facility will be built adjacent to Dell Children’s. The Center will be a new cutting-edge, four-story, 150,000 square-foot facility which will house each Center of Excellence. Rooster Teeth has put forward a bold commitment to dedicating the next three years of Extra Life funds to aid in this important expansion that will ultimately help keep kids in Austin to get the world class healthcare they need and deserve.

As this day of celebration came to a close and the Rooster Teeth team came together to reflect, Extra Life master minds, Jack Pattillo and Caiti Ward and CEO, Matt Hullum spoke publicly sharing their personal connection and sincere gratitude for what the Rooster Teeth community has the ability to accomplish as they come together to reach unimaginable fundraising totals each year through Extra Life. That sense of community is what Extra Life is really all about, and how fortunate we are to have partners like Rooster Teeth who truly embrace that and so clearly understand the need we are working to fill in our community with a true willingness to support that mission every step of the way. We are filled with gratitude as we embark on the next chapter of this partnership and continue to impact the lives of sick and injured children in our community. Endless thanks to our Extra Life superheroes at Rooster Teeth.
