2017–A very good year in review for Dell Children’s Medical Center

Congratulations to the team at Dell Children’s Hospital on your incredible achievements in 2017!

  • Dell Children’s celebrated its 10thbirthday in 2017

  • Austin, Texas broke records in 2017 with Rooster Teeth being the first team in Extra Life history to ever break $1 Million bringing Dell Children’s Medical Center’s grand total for Extra Life 2017 to over $1.2 Million. Dell Children’s will honor their incredible partnership with Rooster Teeth through a naming dedication of the Rooster Teeth Mental Health Healing Garden when this new unit opens for the hospital in spring of 2018.

  •  Austin area Walmart’s and Sam’s Clubs saw a 31% increase in 2017 growing their total from $180,500 to $237,000. Much of this success was due to pre-campaign fundraising as well as a joint kick off Dell Children’s hosted in collaboration with McLane Children’s in the Waco/Temple market. Bringing both hospital’s store locations together and having Walmart’s Regional Director speak at their Kick Off brought great energy and momentum to the 2017 campaign, in spite of the challenges faced last year with Hurricane Harvey.

  • Entercom’s MIX 94.7 in Austin held their annual MIX Makes Miracles Radiothon in December raising over $198,000 for . Whataburger is the presenting sponsor of the Radiothon, and area locations collected donations for Dell Children’s for over a month leading up to the event. Whataburger alone raised over $134,000 and came to the hospital to celebrate by having staff deliver delicious food to Dell Children’s employees. Additional support came from Austin Chapter of Credit Unions,  Macsales.com, and RE/MAX, plus all the generous donors who called in, donated online or bought a one of a kind auction item to help raise funds

Thank you to all of the programs, events, partners and team members at Dell Children’s Medical Center for the miracles you made in 2017 !
